Davis County Fair, Lagoon-A-Beach, and Bear Lake!

We had a fun weekend going to Lagoon Amusement Park, the Davis County Fair, and Bear Lake. We'll start with Lagoon.

We live less than 5 minutes from Lagoon and it has been an awesome family activity for us this summer. We bought season passes, knowing that we'd probably be going very often(a cheap date night since we're now house poor!). Cami and I have gone to Lagoon-A-Beach, the water park inside Lagoon, at least a dozen times this summer. It has the perfect little play area for toddlers. There are small water slides, similar to what you'd find at a regular park, swings, and the water is only about a foot and a half deep so she can easily walk through it. She likes walking through the caves and going down the slides--by herself!! She's been showing a lot more independence lately! They also have a lazy river and a pool area that goes to five feet so we've used this Park as our "neighborhood pool" all summer. It has been a blast! (Cami and I kick it together a lot since we don't really know anyone very well yet in Farmington. It's been great to have this time together. She is my little BFF :)

We also go on a few rides together in Lagoon. Bry, Cami and I go at nights and we hit the Carousel and the Safari Train Ride with Cami. She LOVES the Carousel and pets the different animals she rides on while she's going up and down. The train ride boasts of having the 2nd largest zoo in the state of Utah (which isn't saying much since Hogle Zoo is the "largest" zoo). They have White Tigers, Bengal Tigers, Lions, Llamas, Camels, Elk, Zebras, Miniature donkeys, Black leopards, Kangaroos, Golden Eagles, and a few other random animals. She is fascinated with Trains and Lions now!

She loves going through the tunnel. We go back and forth and back and forth ...: )

On her way up the stairs to go to the slides!
 On the Carousel at Lagoon!
I think she's pointing to another horse that she wants to ride :)
Train ride at Lagoon. Cami calls it a "choo choo"
Pumped to see the animals :)

So, next we went to the Davis County Fair on Friday. I entered Cami into the "Davis County Baby Show" for the 1 to 2 year olds, thinking it could be fun. When we got there and registered I realized that I made it to a tiny version of "Toddlers and Tiaras". Yikes! We went up on stage with all the other little girls with poofy dresses and makeup. She got a new ball from the experience, but I will make sure to not make that mistake again!

They did have a fun Petting Zoo where the kids could walk around and pet random animals. Cami petted a camel, a pony, an alpaca, a llama, a few different varieties of sheep and goats, a cow, a bunny, and a turtle. There was also a Zebra, but it was not there for petting. We listened to a few shows, walked through the bunny house, and the hen house, ate some food from the fair vendors and Cami played in the kids area. All in all it was a pretty fun time!
Petting the goats at the fair!
This was her favorite! Riding the cars at the fair. They should've done a derby with these cars!

On Saturday we went to Bear Lake for the day. It's only about a two hour drive away! What a gorgeous Lake! I have been there before, but never realized how close it is to us now. I will do anything to get some beach time in. We played in the sand, went out and swam for awhile, did a picnic and just bathed in the sun. What a gorgeous day and what a fun day trip! I totally loved it! Next time we'll have to get some jet skis or a boat!

Cami sat right on anything that Bryan tried to build in the sand. She's a destroyer :)
My little family! I am one lucky girl. We had an awesome weekend together. I love my family!!!

Words that Start with B

Almost all of Cami's favorite things lately start with the letter "b".  She likes (in no particular order):

Bubbles (we blow bubbles daily)
Babies (both real and dolls)
Bears (She carries her teddy everywhere)
Blankies (addicted to her pink blanket. I have to sneak it away to wash it)
Balls (of any size and color!)
Baths
"Bah Bah" (interpretation: "bark! bark!" She calls dogs this)
Bananas ("nana" for short)
Books (we read books all the day long!)

A few other favorites: feeding ducks, petting horses (thanks to our neighbors), going to the park and sliding "all by herself", swimming, playing in any form of water (puddles, buckets, swimming pools, baths, sinks, etc.), and having mom and dad read to her.

17 months old! I love this kid so much and thank God daily for her!!!

Is anyone out there?

Well, we've been BUSY since Cami's birthday in March. Our house was finished by April 18th and we moved in on the 20th. We really love the area and have enjoyed living in Farmington! Utah is funny though. It seems like if you're born in Utah, you stay in Utah and live within 5 minutes of mom and dad for the rest of your life (and 20 min away from your sibilings which is considered a "long" distance relationship :). So, everyone who lives here grew up in Centerville and graduated from Viewmont HS. Just like Sandy--they grew up there and graduated from Alta or Brighton.  It's definitely a cultural thing. So, breaking into that group has always been a struggle since my closest relatives are in Price, UT or Rexburg, ID. :)

I have some pics below to describe what we've been up to:
Boxing up for the big move! That's one heavy 25 lb box!
Visitors, visitors and MORE visitors! We love 'em! Matt and Leticia Bryner
More visitors--the Patrick Cousins :) Always fun with the Patricks!
We went to the SLC Bees game for Bry's birthday and the Christian Bryner Family came up! Sorry, no fireworks!
I've been a winner, winner chicken dinner this summer! One concert, 5 movies for 4 +, and $100. Not a bad way to get a free date night! Thanks KSOP!
We had some flooding this spring in our backyard that led to ducks moving in. We welcomed the ducks, just not the water. Two pumping jobs later and we have dirt again!
After losing our ducks, we found more ducks at Farmington Pond (UT). Cami loves feeding the ducks and geese so we go often (when we have enough bread leftover for them)
We had two birthdays in June! I'm 29 and Bry's 34 now. Nice baseball cake for Bry with "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" accents for Cami's enjoyment!
We even got a few vacations in this summer. We went camping and to Yellowstone with the Patricks!
Yellowstone again, at the Falls. This was a 326 step hike straight down to view the falls and 326 steps right back up! It was very steep and the stairs were only attached at the side to a cliff. Scary? Yes. Worth it? Definitely!!
We got some lounging time in too. Cami loves her camp chair. She also loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Sesame Street :)
We do a lot of side walk chalk since our yard is mostly full of dirt, rocks and weeds at the moment. Cami is an interpretative chalker and usually gets it all over her body too. Art is art, right?
I've been painting Cami's play room since June and just finished today! Here is the hall leading to the main room with cows grazing in the fields

We even had a surprise visitor for 10 days! Chase came strolling in on his bike from Rexburg, ID. He is on a biking trip from Portland, Oregon all the way back to Tallahassee, Fl. He stopped in on us and we went to Lagoon, went swimming, and painted a ton :). He's in Tennessee right now. Crazy biking champion!
Here is the main wall for the Play room. Bry got me a stencil kit for my birthday and I went to town! (thanks to Chase for priming and painting!!)

The corn field wall with a bunny and some flowers too.
The Duck pond wall. I free handed the pond, the ducks, and some little bits of grass. Everything else was stenciled.
The sheep and sunflower wall. The black sheep was a "must have ":)
Some random shots of our kitchen before we moved in.
Another shot of the lovely kitchen! Our builders did an awesome job!
Stairway leading to the 2nd story
Oh yeah, and somewhere in the middle of it all, Cami learned how to walk :). She gets cuter by the day!
We've been to the Aerospace Museum a few times too! We had Paul, Pierce, and Garrett for the weekend in June and we went there, along with swimming, to the movies, and to the Bees game!
The amazing Patrick family with us at Yellowstone! They all had sandals on and hiked right up and down those stairs in style!
We also went to New Mexico in July for the best week ever! All 6 Jones kids in one location=Party time! I love my family!!

So, blogging has been on the back of my mind for the last several months. We have been so busy and trying to get settled in that we haven't had much time for anything else. It's been an amazing journey so far here in Farmington. It's also been one great summer!

The Destroying of the Cake

"Tradition!!! Tradition. Tradition!!" Like Tevya's family we also have many traditions when it comes birthdays, holidays, etc. My family always did Mickey Mouse pancakes for breakfast (check. Cami loved them!) and, for a first birthday, the baby gets to utterly destroy and eat the cake. Cami loves "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" so we got this little cake and put the Mickey Mouse sugar sticker on it. We had a birthday party with the Bryner family side on Saturday (pictures to come!) and on Monday night, Cami's actual birthday, we let her rip into the cake. Here's the reel:

Getting off to a good start. Fingers into the frosting.
Starting to think, "where have you been all my life, sweet sugar?"
Can't seem to reach that yellow, sugary dot on her chin!
 Setting a steady pace..
(at this point I cut out the back edge for Bryan and I to have some too, so she really didn't eat the Whole thing :)
Oh, so NOW she uses a fork!!
Drinking down some water to slow down the sugar jitters
 A job well done!!
